Operations Officer (fiscal reporting and tax processing in Securities)

Our client in the financial sector is looking for a Medior Financial Controller with expertise in fiscal reporting and withholding tax processing. In this role, you will ensure accurate and timely tax reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Withholding Tax on Incoming Foreign Payments
- Screening incoming foreign payments for relevant taxable elements, such as "interest," "dividend," and "royalties" in multiple languages.
- Identifying amounts subject to Belgian Withholding Tax (WHT) and ensuring proper deduction.
- Accurately and timely remittance of withheld amounts to the tax authorities.
- Working in a highly sensitive domain where precision is critical, given the large amounts involved and potential client concerns (no direct client contact, handled through internal departments).
- Fiscal Reporting & Tax Declarations
- Preparing monthly tax declarations for Belgian investment-related taxes, including:
- Withholding Tax (WHT)
- Stock Exchange Transaction Tax (ToB)
- VAT
- Submitting tax declarations and payment orders to internal teams responsible for liaising with tax authorities.
- Managing both automated (BI queries) and manual reporting processes.
- Supporting audits and internal controls related to tax reporting.
- Preparing monthly tax declarations for Belgian investment-related taxes, including:

Profile & Qualifications
You have a strong background in accounting, tax reporting, and cost controlling. Additionally, you possess the following competencies:
- Analytical & conceptual thinking – Ability to understand and process complex tax-related matters.
- Accuracy & quality-driven – Tax reporting requires strong attention to detail.
- Strong planning & prioritization skills – Managing monthly deadlines and ensuring timely submissions.
- Independent & proactive – Taking responsibility and working efficiently in a complex environment.
- Team player & communicative – Collaborating with internal teams and external auditors.
Technical Skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of BI tools and data processing is a plus.
- Understanding of tax regulations and reporting processes within the financial sector.
- Knowledge of custody and settlement services is an advantage.
Languages:
You are fluent in Dutch and English and have a good working knowledge of French.
