Senior Test Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Test Engineer with significant expertise in developing and validating data migration strategies, ensuring successful dry runs from existing IT platforms to new systems. The candidate will be adept at documenting runbooks and meticulously detailing test and validation steps, including necessary timings, dependencies, and critical points of focus. Regular reporting on migration testing outcomes and assisting in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for new platforms will also be key responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Migration Strategy Testing: Design, develop, and execute detailed test plans for migration strategies, ensuring robust validation of all scenarios.
- Runbook Creation: Draft comprehensive runbooks that outline the steps for executing migration scenarios, with precise attention to timings, dependencies, and critical points.
- Preparation: Ensure all prerequisites for conducting migration tests are met.
- Dry Run Validation: Perform and confirm the accuracy and completeness of dry runs for migration scenarios.
- Data Handling: Efficiently normalize and compare large datasets to guarantee consistency across source and target environments.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, project managers, and business stakeholders, ensuring that testing efforts align with project goals.
- Progress Reporting: Maintain progress reports to keep stakeholders informed about milestones, challenges, and solutions in testing.
- UAT Support: Assist in the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of the new platform as required, adapting quickly to new systems.
Profile
- At least 3 years of proven experience in a similar role in the financial services sector, particularly with transaction banking.
- Experience in testing migration strategies and conducting dry runs for migration scenarios.
- Strong skills in documenting detailed runbooks.
- Expertise in normalizing and comparing large datasets efficiently.
- Methodical attention to detail and thorough approach to testing and documentation.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to understand and interpret complex business requirements.
- Previous involvement in large-scale IT platform overhaul projects within financial institutions.
- Fluency in English and in French and/or Dutch (French preferably) desired.
- Master's degree or equivalent experience, preferably in IT, engineering, or applied economics/commercial engineering.
- Soft Skills: accuracy, risk awareness, ability to thrive in a multilingual work environment, strong analytical skills, proactive, hands-on attitude, resilience to stress: ability to manage tight timelines and pressure, independence, commitment, and perseverance.
